Description

Feed-grade L-isoleucine is one of the key branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in livestock and poultry nutrition and can become an important limiting amino acid in low-protein corn–soybean meal-based diets. Its core nutritional value lies in precisely balancing the dietary amino acid profile and bringing amino acid ratios closer to the ideal protein pattern. This promotes muscle protein synthesis, improves average daily gain and feed efficiency, and helps reduce the feed conversion ratio (FCR).

L-isoleucine also plays an important role in gluconeogenesis and energy metabolism, contributing to efficient energy utilisation and the maintenance of glucose homeostasis and metabolic health. Strategic supplementation of L-isoleucine in low-protein diets helps reduce dietary crude protein levels and the inclusion of protein-rich ingredients such as soybean meal while maintaining productive performance, thereby lowering feed formulation costs. At the same time, improved nitrogen utilisation can reduce nitrogen excretion in manure, lower ammonia concentrations in animal housing, and contribute to a better rearing environment.

In addition, adequate L-isoleucine supplementation in weaned piglets supports intestinal mucosal development, immune function, and digestive health; in lactating sows, it can support milk production and milk quality; and in poultry, it contributes to normal feather development and uniformity. Through these multiple nutritional functions, L-isoleucine supports stress resilience and overall productive performance in livestock and poultry.

Choosing feed-grade L-isoleucine means choosing an efficient nutritional solution that combines growth support, immune function, cost efficiency, and more sustainable animal production.
