Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is an indispensable water-soluble vitamin in animal feed. As a core component of coenzymes FMN and FAD, it is widely involved in the body's energy metabolism (especially the oxidation and decomposition of carbohydrates, fats and proteins) as well as the respiration of cells. In aquaculture production, vitamin B2 is crucial for maintaining the normal growth of animals, the health of their skin and mucous membranes, visual function and nervous system function. Deficiency can lead to typical deficiency symptoms, such as "claw paralysis", growth retardation, diarrhea and rough feathers in poultry, dermatitis, eye diseases and reproductive disorders in pigs, as well as angular stomatitis in young ruminants. Due to the fact that animals themselves cannot synthesize it and the content in raw materials such as grains is limited, especially under the demands of intensive and high production performance, additional supplementation must be added to complete feed to meet the nutritional needs for rapid growth, high egg production and high reproductive capacity.
